photographing Maravilla
Cenote Maravilla in Mexico is one of my favourite places on earth, and every time I free dive there I try to find a new way to photograph its marvels. This time I focused on getting all the elements together - the opening, the cloud, the vast space, and two free divers in the frame. It was a tricky shot but it was fun to try.
The freedivers are Camila Jaber, Georgina Miller, Cesiah and Estefani, and Roberto Guzman.

That's still my favorite place to dive so far. I loved how as I descended into it the first time the light beams would sometimes illuminate the sides and reveal that you could fit an entire cathedral down there! It's an unassuming hole that conceals so much wonderment. I miss it.

@@DaanVerhoeven The other one I enjoyed down there was Kin-Ha. It’s an enclosed cave with openings in the roof. As the sun changed position it would send narrow beams down the holes into almost total blackness. I have no idea how far down it goes, but it feels like descending down beams of light into the infinite. ♾️

I did bunch of stuff like this when i was younger, i didnt use UA-cam in those days, barely existed. Also went to swim far from the coast line several times. I guess danger was always there but ineas happier not knowing it.
